GOOD THINGS: strength

]

It is a sign of strength,

not of weakness,

to admit that

you don't know all the

answers."

John P. Loughrane

When you pray for strength,

remember that strength is gained through adversity.

Be prepared to face adversity

and you will be stronger for it."

  • learning to ride a bike after falling off so many times and getting scratches from it
  • writing an exlover a note that you will be there for him when he is ready to be your friend again.
  • getting rainpoured showers after a 100 degree celcius weather! it was such a relief!

  • auntie norma's flipino beef steak - it's too die for, super succulent and tender - yummy!

  • starbucks gift card - means shorter time in starbucks in the expense of other genegrous people who loves you - thanks ate tina for the card!
  • hearing from "dragon dancer" when you least expected it.
  • growing up maturely and thinking about business ventures and investments instead of saving up for that louis vuitton bag you've been eyeing on - i am a big kid now! =P
  • listening to windchimes while the breeze creates its melodious harmony in visalia - it was surprisingly relaxing..

  • rocking yourself in a rocking chair reminds me when i was rocked like a baby.

what about you? what's your good thing today?

good things: secrets of hapiness

Think of all the
BEAUTY
still left
around you
and be happy.

[ANNE
FRANK]

  • we learn the inner secret of happiness
    when we
    learn to direct
    our inner drives,
    our interest
    and our attention
    to something
    outside ourselves.
  • freshly squeezed pineapple and orange juice - vitamin c and anti oxidants

  • pizza pies, jack daniels and karaoke nights til 6 am with tony, ron g(pinoy ron), til 2 am with diane & lorenz - though i could not properly sing due to my persistent cough and sore throat, being with you guys are precious moments. thanks for rendering my song requests and favorite tunes. by the way, what a picker upper night! been feeling down lately. muchas gracias.
  • feasting of lunch and laughters with balloteskie, mhilou, di, patricia (aka lola smith) and stay in glendale - there's no where i would rather be than in great company of my friends laughing endless laughters with them.
  • clean air - my asthma attack decided to invade me again. might be the spring pollens, might be the humid weather. this is one of the big moments i appreciate the clean air that i can breath.
  • tony's surprise visiting me after literally just waking up after pulling an afternoon snooze - yeah! i swear, i look so crappy in my jammies and he's there asking me to go to diner with him! and take this, freakin' tony, asking my mom for the first time ever ( after being friends with him for years!)if he can take me out for dinner and promising her to take me home early (good boy points for my mom, pogi points for him?) i wonder, is it a friendly gesture but are we crossing the fine line of friendship? i still wonder .but the dinner at my favorite hollywood thai resto/hangout SANAMLUANG. we even ordered the same entry and same drinks without even discussing it. coincidence? hmmm.

  • 30 minutes walks with ariel - has been my stress reliever
  • taking stolen pictures of my niece ischa & nephew ichad and all three of us sleeping in my comfy queen bed.
  • patching up with mom after a nonsense argument - i'm just so much like my mom that we butt heads most of the time. but i appreciate and i love her dearly even sometimes, i neglect to tell her.
  • papa's everlasting understanding - my dad is probably the one person who understands me the most when NO ONE else understand me in this world. what can i say? i'm just lucky.

  • japanese and zen gardens with auntie vicks and ai - so relaxing!
  • hearing RP say, "thank you" 30 more days! whoooaaah!

The happiest of people
don't necessarily
have
the best
of everything;
they just make the
most of everything
that comes along their
way.

  • sunsets - there's nothing like watching the reddish and orange horizons meeting in the skies.

  • spring's cold night breeze crawling into your window pane and feeling the chill of the night - reminds me of nights spent in baguio city when i was a child.

  • 'HIS' laughters - nice to hear a familiar unexpected voice on the other line of the telephone conversation. soon to come - 'HIS' hugs.

  • warm hot chocolate with ischa with marshmallows of course - so heart warming! warms the heart, warms the soul!

  • quiet house - sometimes, you just need to have the house to yourself and enjoy its tranquil and zen like silence.
  • green grass and blooming flowers buds- after a month long of consistent watering ( i was just following my mom's orders hahaha) - phew, hues of apple green and rainbow filled petals are sprawling! wow.

  • hot and aromatic towels fresh from the dryer - so cold here...it's nice to have something warm and the scent is wonderful, too.
  • buckwheat noodles soaked in somen sauce with nori furikake on top eaten with chopticks! - my sister noreened made me crave japanese food after making me shop for her favorites. so last midnight, i made some for myself and my brother long.

  • laughing until your stomach hurts - thanks mamu 'valerie' for the laugh today. though we have a little problem to solve, it surely helped that we have such eccentric and wacky personalities to deal with it.

A NEW BEGINNING

GOOD THINGS : a fresh start

over the years, i've had crazy, chaotic titles of my blog series. i made stories in SPIRITUAL REVERIES entries which i developed to feed the soul and warm the spirit.
i created my own personal blog entitled MY SILENT REVERIES which i kept for years to have a place of solstice where i can be ME and vent out things i don't normally tell the public ( only accessed by my intelligent friends and selected family members who figured out a way to go there).

and then i also had YACKetyY YACK which consisted of my every day musings on nonsense everyday things to have a conversation piece for the day.

but today, i found a new revelation. the past months has not been the greatest moments of my life.for a while, i am underwhelmed of how things are not going my way. for someone like me who is a go getter always on the go, it results to frustrations.

slowly on a daily basis, i am learning to submerge myself into positive thinking. patiently understanding that sometimes, not all things come quickly and the way you wanted it to be. although there are so much hatred, betrayal, discomfort in our lives, it occured to me that the power of telling yourself "KAYA MO YAN!" (you can do it!) defines the ability to face the chaos in a different manner.

yes, i realized, i am so blessed after all. the previous entry talked about happiness. and so following up on that entry, i decided i am adding another musing of entries i will call simply 'GOOD THINGS.' and it's all about simple, unnotice, disregarded things we see but we fail to appreciate. it's about being straight to the point no bull amusements of life. it's enlisting at least 10 of any-thing and every-thing that gives us a smile: whatever it is.

like the rest of my contemplative efforts, it is meant to amuse, enlighten, and perhaps, reach out and humbly inspire my readers in my own quiet way. i hope you like it.

GOOD THINGS: new beginning
  • 100% cotton tees/fabric from armani exchange
  • having wireless internet connection after two or three weeks(practically ...i can't remember) of having none.
  • making peanut butter and jelly sandwiches on nutty wheat bread for ischa

  • diane buying ten dollars worth of 'nori'( dried japanese seaweed wrappers used mainly for sushi) from an old korean man because she said 'tulong mo na lang' (it's charity) and sharing the half of the bag with me generously.

  • finishing the nobel prize book awardee NIGHT by elie wiesel (it's a must read - touching true story of survival)
  • sliced green apples dipped in sweet savory caramel sauce

  • one hour of nice, cold shower after a humid spring day
  • velcro
  • hearing ron's sarcastic jokes about my procrastination. or perhaps, i hate to admit that my exBF turned great friend knows me too well.
  • maffi calling me and trying to figure out what or where to eat in las vegas for her lunch break- wow, what a big problem she has!LOL.
